The Play That Goes Wrong (PCPA '24) - Scenic Painter
Any appearance of wallpaper displayed in these images was done from stencils, original crafted stamps, or by hand.
PCPA floor treatments were generally executed with a 4-6-person crew. All Springer Opera House floor treatments were generally done by me, outside of Xanadu and Misery where I had one painting assistant.
Some of the lighting choices or scenic elements that would work in collaboration with lighting that are displayed were done with glass, plexiglass, or via careful processes on muslin. The light bulbs used in Cabaret were aged by the scenic painting department. The Windows in Ma Rainey's Black Bottom were tinted and distressed painting techniques done on plexiglass. As for the muslin, the stained glass from Chicken and Biscuits was painted lightly so that the windows could be backlit for the stage.
