Two of my favorite aspects when looking into sound used in productions have always included Foley art and Music. This production of Sailor's Song allowed me to express a little bit of both.
The story follows a former sailor (John) who thought of himself as fairly autonomous and free with the ladies, but the right lady can come along and rock a sailor’s boat harder than any wave ever could. His nephew Rich has come to visit and seems to be following in his footsteps of sailing and women, although they do not have the steadiest relationship. As John’s wife/ Rich’s aunt’s health rapidly fades, the two begin to wrestle with the challenges within the realities of both love and death.
The playlist displayed is a collection of pre-show music I curated to highlight the characters’ journeys and personalities, main events, and concepts throughout this play.
